Make your rows more efficient, drive through the heels, lean back, and pull to the top of your chest. Improve your punching power with Coach Ed! . #Repost @ekwanomical ... IF YOU WANT TO PUNCH HARDER, TRY ROTATIONAL KETTLEBELL SWINGS . . I see a lot of "functional" strength training neglecting a lot of rotational and lateral movements for the body. Look at punching in Boxing and MMA: you're transferring rotational energy from the hips to the end of your fists. Almost every power punch in boxing involves hip rotation and a solid core to transfer that power to the hands. Obviously, the best way to get better at punching is to actually punch, but we can supplement our practice with some strength and conditioning. . THE ROTATIONAL SWING: It's a bit advance, but keep the core locked down as you generate force from pivoting on your toes and rotating your hips. We are reinforcing the same body mechanics used in throwing punches in boxing. . . Give it a try, tell me what you thing.
