THE MIND OF A MAN-LION Birthday Art Whenever someone asks me Wow, when did you start drawing? I usually respond When did you stop? All children love Art, love to draw, and love to color. Somewhere in our pubescent years the majority of us are instructed or made to believe that creative thinking and art expression is a waste of time. For me that was far from the case. My Incarnation as an artist was not my choice, it was my destiny. As a left-handed Leo, I have ...always had a creative and self-determining outlook on life. I was the child in class that got in trouble for doodling and drawing all day instead of doing classwork. No matter how you discipline me, I was never going to stop drawing. I graduated high-school with a horrible 1.7 grade-point average but my art portfolio and SAT scores got me into one of the best liberal arts schools in the country. At Virginia Commonwealth University we did not learn how to get an art job, but rather, how to create art jobs. I am currently a Freelance Artist and The Founder/Executive Director of the non-profit organization the Bay Area Mural Program. I spend 7 days out of the week designing, painting, teaching creative ways of expressing oneself through the visual arts.
