The Arbor Learning Community

In honor of Black History Month, students in our embroidery class studied African Folklore, including stories about the majestic Baobab tree. Inspired by what they learned, they drew on fabric and embroidered using a common African embroidery method called a chain stitch. They created such beautiful designs, including this one made by one of our Arbor students!

What fun it was to gather for our Virtual Cultural Celebration! Arbor students shared about the Netherlands, South Africa, Argentina, Scotland and China! Some of what we saw included a beautiful Chinese dress, an introduction to a special way of drinking tea from Argentina, how to say words in different languages and so much more! We even had one of our students from the state of Wisconsin introduce us to Chocolate Cheese! Thank you to all who participated in this fun virtual event!
