Fifty-three trips around the sun complete, a fresh cut on my mop with a growing number of silver highlights, a failing coup d’etat, and a ridiculously politicized health crisis. My two favorite people schemed to make me a special day, and I’ve never felt so truly seen and loved. Dinner from one of my favorite local restaurants, L’ardoise. The kid baked and decorated her first cake (delicious!), also painted her first painting in honor of my new hummer friends, and while we d...on’t usually do so many gifts, these were all so thoughtfully picked out and clearly imbued with the deepest love. Then there was the clever clue trail I had to follow to find everything! My heart is simultaneously full to the brim and broken wide open. Hearing from friends and family all around the world was the cherry on top.
