The Pasty Kitchen

As of today we will be putting a $0.30 surcharge on our large beef pasty and a $0.15 surcharge on a small beef pasty. Our cost of beef has gone up 30% in two weeks. After doing the math, we would be losing a lot of money at our current price. This is just a temporary surcharge in place until the price of the beef has gone back down to normal. The chicken will remain the same price. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope that everyone will understand that we don't want to charge more, but in order to continue doing business we have to. We are barely breaking even with the surcharge in place so we hope that prices don't go up any more. Thank you for understanding.

Hopefully this post will answer a lot of questions..... Roman and the rest of our crew decided to leave our store after 23 years without any warning to us or anyone as far as we know. We had no intention of getting rid of any of them and have tried to contact them without success. They were not mistreated as some people have claimed on here. They were well compensated for the hard work they did and were very happy working there until the pandemic arrived. Without anything bu...t a text message saying they were going back to a family ranch in Mexico, they left. We are probably the most surprised people by this because it is so out of character for them. My dad has owned the store for 40 years. We know that there have been complaints about the product as of late. We did not change anything intentionally about the pasties. Any variation since Roman left is due to the lack of experience of the new crew. We are trying to replace a veteran crew without them being there to train their replacements. Anyone who has ever worked in a restaurant knows that is an extremely difficult process. We finally feel as of Monday our crew is staffed with people who, with a little bit of time and constructive critisism, will be able to fill the shoes of the crew before them. We apoligize to all of our loyal customers (some of whom have been eating here longer than I have been alive) for any problems that this has caused and ask that you dont give up on us. We are going to get back to business as usual no matter what it takes. This is a difficult time for everyone and we will get through it by supporting each other and following the guidelines set to protect us. I think this answers a lot of peoples questions and hopefully everyone can be understanding of our situation. We are not trying to push customers away. I want to take a moment to clear up statements made on other social media sites so all of our customers are not misinformed. Our old crew (Roman and his family) did not get fired. They were with us since I (the owners son) was 11. That is 23 years. We thought of them as our own family. They decided to leave over night due to fear of COVID-19. We are just as shocked at them going as anyone. To the couple of individuals who said that we fired them, please stop putting false statements up. They were the hardest working, most trustworthy, and greatly appreciated people anyone could have asked for.

We will be opening for business on Tuesday April 7th at 11am. We are only going to have beef pasties for the first couple of weeks. If you have large orders (15 or more), we ask that you please call at least an hour or two before pickup to give us a chance to make them for you while accommodating our other guests. We are still training some new team members so we aren't quite ready to open just yet. We did get things straightened out with our vendors so it will only be a few more days until we are open again.
