We feel grateful to International Rescue Committee in Sacramento for allowing us to participate a second time in their Winter Welcome program. Thanks to them, our office adopted a recently arrived refugee family for the holiday season. Besides simple toiletries, our family only requested ONE gift: a good pair of shoes to help them work a job which requires many hours of standing. It touched our hearts to provide these simple items and welcome our new neighbors to the Sacramento community.

This enables you to leave behind unwanted provisions and restrictions, outside of the court system. Trust decanting is especially advantageous if you have an allocated A/B Trust (meaning an A/B Trust that was split into 2 halves after the first spouse's death). If you or someone you know needs help decanting a Trust,... our office is here to answer your questions. Learn more at dhtrustlaw.com. What is "Trust decanting"? When you decant a bottle of wine, you pour the liquid from the bottle into a new vessel, leaving behind unwanted sediment to improve the flavor of the wine. Trust decanting works in a similar way. It allows you to change the terms of an Irrevocable Trust by pouring Trust assets from an old Trust to a new Trust. This allows you to leave behind unwanted restrictions and provisions, especially if you have an allocated A/B Trust (aka a bypass Trust that was split after the first spouse passed). For more on Trust decanting, check out our latest blog post: https://dhtrustlaw.com/what-is-trust-decanting/
