Family Link board member, Darien DeLorenzo, receives customer donations check for $371 from Chris Jensen, Store Manager of Cole (Valley) Hardware, San Francisco. Cole Hardware has been a big supporter of The Family Link.

Earlier this month the Castro Street Fair Organization presented The Family Link with a check for $3,103.62, our share of the proceeds from this year’s fair, which was held on October 6, 2013. The total works out to more than $26.50 per volunteer hour, or more than $100 for a 4-hour shift. That’s a generous gift to The Family Link, and one that is appreciated, as always, by the staff, the board, and especially by the guests who depend on The Family Link to provide the hospi...tality that enables them to be with a critically ill or injured loved one in San Francisco during a medical crisis. This gift would not have been possible without the support of the volunteers who worked hard that day. So we thank you all for your much appreciated efforts. As usual, we’ll be doing it all over again on Sunday, October 5, 2014. We look forward to the participation of our loyal volunteers again on that day. See more

Once again, a group of volunteers supported The Castro Street Fair by manning the Volunteer Registration Booth during The Fair. We had a strong group of friiends helping us to earn funds for the organization. The Family Link Board of Directors would like to express our appreciation to all who came to help out.

Walgreens on Castro Street allows non-profits in the neighborhood to create a window display containing information on the organization. This month, The Family Link has a display again this year, that was assembled by Board Chairman, Bob Brown, and Board Secretary, Craig Davidson (pictured). Please stop by and take a closer look.

Board President Diana Hartman had a lovely visit with the family of Keith Rice near Philadelphia. Keith has been gone many years now and the Rice family had many stays at The Family Link when we were still on Baker Street.

Colla Voce is a gay men's vocal ensemble with a love of singing and a commitment to the community. They perform concerts that benefit local non-profit organization and last Spring, the group performed "Being Alive" for the benefit of The Family Link. This past November, Steve Harvey, on the left, and Steve Ng (photographer and Musical Director) presented Bob Brown (Vice-President of The Family Link Board, on the right) with a check for $1,180, which were proceeds from that concert. The Family Link would like to express our appreciation to Colla Voce for this wonderful gift and for all their hard work.
