*****please share and note action item***** #AB1460 mandated a California State University (CSU) Ethnic Studies (ES) requirement. The CSU Chancellor’s Office in...sists on restructuring General Education (GE) to limit the ES requirement to a lower-division GE. This plan limits student flexibility to fulfill the requirement whenever and however they want during their academic career, creates faculty workload issues, and unnecessarily reduces enrollment in allied fields (including history, political science, and other social sciences). 19 of 23 campuses (so far) and the Academic Senate of the CSU formally oppose the Chancellor’s Office implementation plan. Please support by emailing the CSU Board of Trustees at [email protected] by MONDAY, Nov 16 and tell them to oppose the Chancellor’s Office Executive Order regarding GE restructuring and the ES requirement!
