"The new year often brings with it a clean slate and hopeful new goals. Here's how to actually get them done." Love this piece by Matthew F. Miller via @shondaland How to Challenge Yourself and Stick to Your Goals in 2021 https://ecs.page.link/dgGH1

We set very high goals for ourselves; we fail and then tell ourselves we are failures and that our particular goal is too hard. This is why changing your mindset is so vital. You have to believe that you have the ability to change, that you will fail at times, but you can learn from it and move on.

Are you starting to notice there are things in your life you’ve been tolerating that you’re not willing to tolerate any longer? Here's a tip inspired by the amazing Marie Kondo: https://ecs.page.link/GMWNE #MarieKondo #Therapist #MillennialTherapist

Any permanent change you want to make will always take time. Knowing this what keeps most of us going? Small victories. Charles Duhigg says, Small wins are exactly what they sound like, and are part of how keystone habits create widespread changes. Once a small win has been accomplished, forces are set in motion that favor another small win.

In today’s hectic and fast-paced work culture, burnout and depression are at an all-time high. While employees of all ages are affected, the stress is taking its greatest toll on Millennials and Gen Z. In fact, according to the World Health Organization, 50% of millennials and 75% of Gen Zers claimed they left a job for mental health reasons. If you can focus on less on being happy and more on creating meaning, you'll be able to get through and manage those tough times and when it's all over, the joy and relief will feel even better.

So typical right?! I’m 26 and having a quarter-life crisis! I hate my job but have no idea what I want to do with my life. I’m such a cliché. These words have probably been uttered by every single twenty-something that has walked through my door. Sometimes she is 28 and says work is meh and sometimes she is 23 and has worked incredibly hard to get a position at a top company only to find one year in, she is burned-out. Regardless of age or job, she always feels she is the... only person in the world that experiences the dreaded quarter-life career crisis. Well I’m here to say, Hi, my name is Tess and I too had a quarter-life career crisis. I’m here to tell you I survived and you will too. When I was 27 years old I worked for one of the top Talent Managers in the entertainment business. I worked with celebrity clients, I went to fancy parties and screening and I was on the verge of making it in Hollywood. From the outside looking in I seemed to have it all. But I was miserable. If you are struggling with your own quarter-life career crisis I am here to tell you two very important things: 1) You aren’t alone and; 2) This crisis may be one of the best things that could happen to you. That knot in your stomach, that feeling of dread you have when the alarm goes off every Monday morning is a good thing. This is how your body, your mind, your unconscious is trying to tell you to stop feeling afraid and to start doing what you need to do to get the life you want. So whether you are in the midst of an all out crisis or maybe just feeling like there is something else out there for me you can begin to explore how you view work, define for yourself what kind of career hits your sweet spot so you start to take action today to becomethe person you want to be. #findyourpath #therapistsofinstagram #confidencecoach #lifestrategist #lifecoach #millennialtherapist #genztherapist #careercoach #careerplan #careergoals #careerdevelopment #careerchange #careeradvice #careerplanning #careercounseling #quarterlifecrisis #quarterlifebreakthrough #quarterlifecrisisbegins

There are times throughout the year that stress hits us a little harder than other times. It can hit us during the holidays, birthdays, moving, elections, etc. And I know there are friends that will simply say to you, Don’t stress. They mean well, even if it’s frustrating to hear. But actually that’s not bad adviceI mean simply saying, don’t stress to someone who is freaking out is not the best delivery but the idea or meaning underneath is exactly what all of us need t...o do this month. I’m not denying there is a lot going on in today’s world. There clearly is. But what if you make the conscious choice and set an intention not to let it ALL get to you? What if you decided that this (move, holiday season, graduation, etc.) is going to be about what you want it to be about? Find more free tips at https://tessbrighamcoaching.com/blog/

Racking your brain for holiday gifts to give the younger people in your life this year? As a therapist who works primarily with millennials, one thing I've heard time and again from my clients since the start of the pandemic, is a longing for deeper and more meaningful relationships. When it comes to inspiring and motivating others, it’s not about what you tell them. It’s what you ask. So, what makes a great question? What types of questions can overcome resistance in an organization? What will spark a thought-provoking dialogue? Asking good questions is important because it elevates us beyond current thinking boundaries. As an employer, ask yourself: What am I hearing underneath the variety of opinions being expressed? What new connections am I making? T...he most effective leaders know how to stimulate curiosity and drive reflective conversation. Through brainstorming and collaboration, they fortify learning and increase thought diversity. Most importantly, they know how to use the right language and communication skills to generate broad engagement. Here are five tips to keep in mind during your next brainstorming session: https://ecs.page.link/v96xR #leadershipdevelopment #managementskills #humanresources

Remember...no feeling is final. If you are feeling sad, frustrated or lonely, that feeling will morph and change. If a feeling won't go away then it is trying to tell you something. Why are you feeling lonely? Why are you frustrated? That emotion is telling you that something in your life needs to change. #LifeStrategist #LifeCoach #MillennaiTherapist

We push boundaries all the time in life, but for some reason, the boundary people steer clear of is the one you should be testing most of all: the one at the edge of your comfort zone. Ever heard of the phrase "familiarity breeds contempt?" You cling to your comfort because it's a place that feels familiar, but true happiness, growth, and satisfaction with yourself and your life will never be found in the middle of the same old boring comfortable spot. They're all out there at the edges, just waiting for you to reach for them.
