I’ve been active on insta about 5% more than I’m active on here. But, I’m cross posting this: Work in progress. This piece came to me as a sudden vision like ...most pieces do, but not without all the unseen work that gets me to the place so that I can see. Thinking a lot about the body in place and time (not a new theme in this/last year’s projects, just an acceleration of what once felt speculative). As well as what my sound performances mean when I don’t have a physical room to share with an audience. As a live sound performer, I’m pretty visually unremarkableI twist knobs, program things and mumble or scream into microphones. For me, that’s not the kind of stuff that needs to be live streamed. However, in a physical performance space, sharing an intimate environment changes everything. This piece feels like the closest I could get to that if I can finish it. See more

FROM THE BLACK ORGANIZING PROJECT- "Let’s reflect, let’s act, and let’s support generations of on-the-ground organizing work. George Floyd’s murder is symptom...atic of a country whose systems are built on anti-Blackness, white supremacy and social control. Our fight here in Oakland is a part of the larger fight against mass incarceration and has a critical role in the movement. It is important that we see the connections and understand that the police in schools are the same police in the streets, with the same biases and judgements of most in power that are complicit in the oppressive systems that rule this country. Support our campaign to eliminate the Oakland School Police Department which currently arrests Black students disproportionately! We all have a role! Every call , every email, every letter counts. It is time the district addresses real issues and reinvest money into reimagining education, and creating school environments where ALL feel safe." #PeopleOverPolice #PoliceFreeSchools #StandForBlackSanctuary #StandWithBOP

MANY WAYS TO SUPPORT THE REVOLUTION - go local, go real, go all the way

TAC: Temescal Art Center 07.02.2020

via Bandcamp: This Friday, #June5th (from midnight to midnight PDT), we’re once again waiving our revenue share for all sales on Bandcamp to support #artists impacted by Covid-19. We’ve put together a list of artists and labels preparing special releases for Friday, including those donating their share to organizations in support of racial justice and change. In addition, on Friday, #June19th, we’re donating 100% of our share of sales to the #NAACP Legal Defense Fund, a racial justice organization with a long history of effectively enacting change through litigation, advocacy, and public education.

TAC: Temescal Art Center 22.06.2019

THANK YOU Nathan Clevenger::: As you may have heard, the wonderful folks at #Bandcamp are forgoing all fees again on Friday (tomorrow), meaning 100% of proceeds go direct to the artist. In the spirit of passing it on to one of the many crucial venues really struggling right now, I'll be donating 100% of my Friday Bandcamp sales to Oakland's Temescal Arts Center. You can find my latest proper album, 2019's octet/nonet epic Stateless, here: https://nathanclevenger.bandcamp.com/album/stateless Other items from my discography available on the same page. Naturally, this is also a great day to buy music from most of my favorite artists and ensure they get the maximum cut in a time when every little bit helps immeasurably. Thank you for considering.
