UPCOMING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Persian New Year Craft: March 14th (Wednesday) from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. ... 2 volunteer spots left! New Coding Program: This will begin in March and take place every Wednesday You must be at least 15 years old to volunteer for this DISCUSSION NOTES Possible New Programs Board Game Club Chess Club Fun Friday Lego Club The Friends have offered to pay for TeensReach T-shirts! Possible designs can be made at https://www.customink.com/ We may be purchasing a video game console for the kids/teenagers at the library to use (have any suggestions?) OTHER NOTES There is a new volunteer sign-in and sign-out sheet located next to the volunteer computer station in the staff room! Please remember to check in every time you come to volunteer so that you can receive credit for your hours and be accounted for in the event of an emergency. Also, next to the new sign-in sheet will be volunteer badges. Make sure that you pick one up and wear it during your volunteer shift. Hello teen volunteers! Here are the volunteer opportunities for the month of January. Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions or are interested in any of these events. FRIENDS BOOK SALE What: Help organize books on display and earn a free book for every hour that you volunteer! Where: Community Room... When: January 26th (Friday) We need help especially from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. January 27th (Saturday) January 28th (Sunday) We need help especially from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M.) MATH OLYMPIAD CLUB This will be starting up again on January 16th. It is on Tuesdays from 5:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. FRIDAY FUN Our goal is to have different activities for each Friday of the month from 4:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. Currently, we are thinking of using the following list of events: Lego Club: Watch children build with legos and make sure no one swallows anything. Craft: Any volunteer can create/lead their own craft or the library can request a craft to be sent to this location. Secret Writers’ Club: Give children a prompt to write about and help them spell words or come up with ideas. Origami (?): Anyone interested can lead an easy origami lesson. UPCOMING EVENTS Holiday STEAM for Kids When: December 8th (Friday) from 4:00 to 5:30 P.M.... Where: Community Room What: Projects include building coding tree ornaments, snowflake art, and making a toy dreidel. There will also be Bingo and Letters to Santa. Fratello Marionettes: North Pole Review When: December 15th (Friday) from 4:00 to 5:30 P.M. Where: Community Room What: This production showcases the high kicking antics of the Russian Trepak Dancers, the graceful ice skater Crystal Chandelier, and the dazzling acrobatic penguins. We need chair set-up/crowd control/counters. We might start a new series of volunteer events from 4:00-5:00 or 4:30-5:30 P.M. on fridays called Friday Fun. Maybe this way, we can include programs like Secret Writers’ Club and Lego Club once a month.
