Downtown Los Angeles is our HONDA Home, and we owe a lot of our home to David DD Ditlevson, who passed suddenly last month, leaving behind a loving family, not to mention countless coworkers and colleagues who hold him in their memories. Our HONDA team originated in New York, where we partnered with our community in a very successful dealership. When presented with the opportunity to reinvent ourselves in Downtown Los Angeles, many of our teammates moved together across the country, and thus began our families’ Los Angeles adventure in 2011. As part of the broader HONDA family, and thanks to years of teamwork, our new community has brought new opportunities for everyone. In 2015, we decided to invest deeply in the community around the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and build a new, six-story class-A, full-service HONDA dealership. As always, it was all about teamwork and family -- values evident in the community where many of our employees now reside. When we selected our general contractor to construct our $21,000,000 state-of-the-art facility, we knew it was essential that their leadership embody our culture. The staff at TEAMWRKX Construction brought their heart along with their expertise in the form of Field Operations leader David Ditlevson, known fondly to all as DD. For five years, DD and his team helped us design and build a beautiful project that means prosperity, opportunity, and service for decades to come. He and his team have a legacy in Los Angeles, and we are grateful for it. We were deeply saddened by DD’s sudden passing last month, and have pulled together to offer this $10,000 donation from our HONDA Family to DD’s family. We pray this contribution helps launch a second round of fundraising for his family, and we invite TEAMWRKX clients to please assist likewise in this most worthy cause. DD has brought our diverse community together in celebration of his life and his spirit is working in us and through us daily. The Ditlevson family is overwhelmed by the generous thoughts and deeds of David's many friends. In not even 24 hours time, we are almost 20% of the way to our goal and so very touched! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

It is with extremely heavy hearts that we share our beloved David Ditlevson passed away on May 14, 2020. David was unexpectedly diagnosed with grade 4 Glioblastoma brain cancer in November, 2019 and continued to fight the battle with hope until the very end. It is hard to accept that he was taken from all of us so suddenly at the prime of life and had so much more to accomplish for his family. It seems an irreplaceable part of our world is gone. David will always be in our he...arts, but our lives will never be the same without him here. THANK YOU ALL for your overwhelming support, generosity and desire to assist David’s family during this difficult transition.
