The passing of our brother Tom Keegel is a big loss for union. Under his leadership, the Teamsters instituted sweeping reforms in every area of the union’s finances. He balanced the budget for the first time in more than a decade; hired skilled auditors and accountants; and, developed programs to extend these reforms to Teamster affiliates. He also instructed his auditors to help local unions make their books models of clarity and ethics. His efforts have made our union stronger and better for our brothers and sisters and working families in our country. Tom will be missed. Rest in Power, brother... #TeamsterStrong

Due to COVID-19, the October 2020 General Membership Meeting will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 on at 9:00 am. It will be taking place online via ZOOM. Following the announcement of the Stater Bros Contract being ratified, we are excited to announce that we have reached a Tentative Agreement for more than 4,000 warehouse workers and truck drivers that deliver food and supplies to Soouthern California’s largest grocery stores, Albertsons (includes Vons and Pavilions) and Kroger (includes Ralphs and Food4Less)! We would like to announce that the Stater Bros Contract was ratified yesterday, on October 7, with a vote 96% to approve and 4% to reject. We want to thank the negotiating committee for all of their help, they did a terrific job, in securing a great contract. The passing of Brother Larry Griffith is a huge loss, to his family, his loved ones and to the Teamsters Family. As Secretary-Treasurer and Principal Officer of Teamsters Local 14 and Western Region International Representative for the Construction Division, his dedication to our members could be seen in his endless dedication to his work in Nevada, in the West and throughout our country to ensure our members had the protections they needed to work with dignity and respect. Make no mistake about it - Prop 22 is bad news when it comes to protecting workers in California and it will hurt UPS Teamsters! From allowing companies like Coyote Logistics, Amazon Flex and FedEx to not pay unemployment insurance, Social Security or Medicare to limiting compensation for delivery drivers to allowing companies to circumvent the need to hire Teamster drivers, we can't allow Prop 22 to pass.
