Our Soft-Story Retrofit Retrofit of a 134 Unit Apartment Building Using the FEMA P-807 Analysis and retrofit procedure was featured in the April 2017 Simpson Strong-Tie Structural Report. This was the first Soft-Story retrofit using the FEMA non-linear analysis procedure in the City of San Rafael. Our work with the Building department to explain the effectiveness of the procedure allowed us to use the non-California Building Code based approach to design, and hopefully will pave the way for future projects.
