Enjoy a read about social distancing drills, how to quickly recover from any sports-related pains, and greetings from our neighbors Temecula Valley Inline Hockey. Hope to see some of you you at the rink! Semi-weekly scrimmages at MLK for peewees, bantams, and alumni are 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesdays, and 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm on Saturdays. (Scrimmages are not an official function of TCIHL, they are organized by a parent independently from the youth league.)

Something you could practice by yourselves on a slippery surface if you have enough room in your backyard. (How do you like the off-the-glass-between-the-legs shot??)

What you can do at home!

Who does not remember former TCIHL girl player Tanner Gates - mentioned in this magazine! Now sponsored by Colgate, the sophomore from Oceanside recently erupted for 21 points, including seven goals. Her point total was the highest among Raiders ‘D’ and fourth overall on the team. And you may also recognize the name of Jr. Kings grad, Escondido native and defenseman Pavel Bocharov, who has just signed with the WHL’s Saskatoon Blades for the 2020-21 season. Although he never skated at TCIHL, those who skated at Icoplex may know him very well. Enjoy April issue of California Rubber Hockey magazine, and don't miss article "Differences between training for roller hockey vs. ice hockey" on page 22!

ALL TCIHL ACTIVITIES SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE Due to the COVID-19 Virus, TCIHL will delay the season until further notice. A mandate to limit gatherings and physical contact was handed down by the Governor, and passed along to the league through the City of Oceanside. This mandate is currently in place until the end of the month and will then be reviewed and possibly extended. We will update this post and keep our members informed by email. This should not prevent anyon...e from getting outside, getting some exercise, and doing some practicing on your own as long as you are healthy! Simply avoid the situations that put you at risk. Additional information on the Coronavirus can be found at this link: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html ABOUT MARCH 21st GULLS GAME We have received a notification from the San Diego Gulls regarding the March 21st game: "All team-related events have been postponed until further notice." The statement also said "In the meantime, ticket holders for upcoming Gulls games are encouraged to keep their tickets until further information becomes available." We understand this is just an advice from the Gulls management to hold on to tickets for a later occasion. Whether a later occasion will contain a "high-five" opportunity and after-game picture opportunity on ice, it remains unknown. While you may be at liberty to visit a future game by retaining your ticket you may have purchased, the outing may not be as organized as TCIHL had originally planned it to be. That's why, if you would like to attempt to refund your tickets, please contact: Cameron Fagundes Account Executive for Group Sales San Diego Gulls Hockey Club Office: (619) 359-4735 Email: [email protected]

TCIHL is proud to be based in San Diego County's happiest city! Click on the source for the methodology here: https://wallethub.com/edu/happiest-places-to-live/32619 and you will see that Sports-Participation Rate has Double Weight (~7.27 Points), even more so than Ideal Weather: Half Weight (~1.79 Points)! Go, hockey!
