We remember the 11 innocent Jews killed two years ago today at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. We pray that their names will be a blessing, their love...d ones and communities find healing and peace, and we remain resolved to pray without fear. Many thanks to those who conceived of, planned and participated in this years High Holy Day Food Drive. Isaac and the crew from Inland Valley Hope Partners received your donations this past Sunday at our "loading the bags" event, even though there was just a small crew of loaders able to participate due to COVID-19. Many thanks to Deborah Gould and Jeanine Mann who carried much more than their portion to the IVHP truck lift gate. IVHP also received a check covering all your invaluable monetary donations. "Yasher Koachem" to all involved.

Mazal Tov to the Bass Family on Evan's becoming Bar Mitzvah this past Shabbat. So great to celebrate our first B'nei Mitzvah since early March, but still missing having family, friends and community join in person, rather than virtually.

Shalom/Salaam TBI Community- For each of the past eleven years, TBI has been an active part of the the annual "Interfaith Walk" and have welcomed literally thousands of visitors to our synagogue as the Walk visited Muslim, Jewish and Christian houses of worship in our community, making new friends and learning about our neighbor's faiths along the way. This year finds us participating in a "virtual" walk due to COVID-19, but the opportunity for engagement remains. Sunday's... feature will be live contributions from a range of participants including those joining directly from Israel and Palestine, including representatives from the Abrahamic Reunion, a groundbreaking collaboration of Muslims and Jews working together to build trust and a lasting opportunity for peace. There will also be opportunities to learn about and discuss the path forward in these uncertain times. You can access further info at the Eventbrite link mentioned in the graphic- mideastpeacemaking2020.eventbrite.com. Also, in keeping with "tradition" I'll start off the event with a musical prologue at 12:45 p.m. -Cantor Paul Buch See more

Our new cohort of "Introduction to Judaism" begins on Wednesday evening, October 28, 2020 in an online format. There are 18 sessions in total and our hope is that in-person engagement will be possible at some point. Explore the range of the Jewish experience including ritual, spirituality, culture, history and philosophy. Great for a wide range of students from those with Jewish roots, those considering possible conversion and those of other faiths wanting to learn more about Judaism, Jews, and the Jewish roots of other spiritual paths. You can join online at introtojudaismtbi2020.eventbrite.com or through the TBI Office. Course tuition ($180) due by third class date. Scholarships considered.

We know that online preschool is not the same as quality early childhood education. But, during this time of change and uncertainty, we can give our children e...xtra opportunities for forming connections, creativity and new experiences while at home. Check out our Virtual Preschool program, which is open to all (you don't need to be enrolled in our on-site TBI Preschool, which is also open to the community)..... unscheduled activity segments that can be accessed at your convenience.
