Tahoe Tot Spot

Pardon the delayed update! Where do I begin!? I usually try to keep it professional but I am going to go ahead and get personal on this post. Although I remain optimistic, I have been riding a roller coaster of thoughts and emotions regarding how to proceed with reopening Tot Spot. I’ve spoken with a lawyer, other business owners, and city officials for advice on how to proceed. I’m sorry to say, but I’ve decided that timing is everything and now just doesn’t seem like the ri...ght time to reopen. Tot Spot is a unique business and there are many factors to consider that most businesses don’t face. I take my responsibilities as a business owner and community member seriously and I don’t want to do anything to jeopardize my little baby business or anyone’s health. Numbers are up, it looks like another round of shutdowns is likely, and I don’t want to open and have to close again. So, for the time being we will remain closed. I apologize for the change everybody, I hate to disappoint anyone who was looking forward to coming to play. Believe me, I am beyond disappointed myself to have to give this update. Thank you to everyone for your continued patience and support during this incredibly difficult time. I will continue to do everything in my power to hold down the fort with the hope of reopening as soon as possible. I am eagerly looking forward to seeing you all, and getting back to serving the community I love SO much In the meantime, take care of yourselves and each other friends!

About the ball pit...in order to provide the safest space possible I have to remove excess toys and anything that will be too difficult to keep clean. So, for the time being, the ball pit is going to be in storage. Don’t worry, there are still PLENTY of toys to keep the kiddos entertained! A lot has changed lately, but my commitment to providing a fun and clean play space remains the same. I will be spending the next few weeks preparing for reopening and looking forward to seeing everyone. I have missed all my little buddies

Update: Starting in November Tot Spot will be opening three days a week, Friday-Sunday. Fridays will be open to LOCALS ONLY and Saturday and Sunday will be open to everyone. (Cautiously optimistic) "YAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!" There are lots of details to work out still and I will be posting updates over the next couple weeks to inform everyone of the new rules and regulations. It has been very difficult deciding how to handle reopening and when would be the right time. I am hopeful that everything will work out and that we will be able to continue serving our community.

Hi friends! Unfortunately our projected reopening date has to be postponed and we will remain closed for the foreseeable future. I am doing everything in my power to keep the space, so that our community will still have an indoor playground for families to go to, when the appropriate time to reopen does eventually come. This is the future of clean at Tot Spot! These UV Germicidal lamps will be used at the end of the day every day as back up in addition to our everyday cleaning. The UV light disinfects all surfaces that it touches up to 600 sq. ft. Hooray for technology!! I will be using this plus various other daily cleaning methods including... -Sanitizing wipes will be available to wipe down toys before and after use -Dirty toy bin for collecting dirty toys throughout the day -Daily Steam... Mopping of Mats and other surfaces -Daily Sanitizing of Toys with handheld steam cleaner -Running toys through the dishwasher -Rotating out dirty toys and replacing with clean toys -Natural spray sanitizer for various surfaces -Puzzles and some other toys will be available to check out and will be cleaned in between each use -Hand washing upon entry and exit -Hand washing before and after snack time -And of course a shot of germ killing UV light for good measure! We will also be taking temps at the door with a no contact thermometer. As well as advising everyone to wash their hands or use available hand sanitizer before entry and upon exit. Masks will be optional and social distance will be recommended, as much as possible. We will also be reducing capacity according to our square footage and allowing only two families at a time in the snack area. We will also ask that all personal belongings are kept in cubbies. It has always been our policy that "many hands make for light work" In order to keep our space as clean as possible we will be asking that everyone do their part to clean up after themselves by sanitizing toys after use or by placing them in the dirty toys bin. #Amazon

Hi friends! After careful consideration I have decided to re-open Tot Spot on August 1st. There will be lots of changes to our business model in order to keep our doors open and the community safe. The biggest change will be that our space will be a LOCALS ONLY and MEMBERS ONLY kids club 5 days a week. I am also dropping our Monthly Membership price to $20/month +$5 for each additional child. From now on we will only be open to the public on Saturdays for Drop-in Open Play. The rest of the week you will have to be a member or punch card holder to enter. This way we can ensure that we are limiting exposure to our community members as much as possible. There are many more updates and details to come.
