This family adventure is the Tahoe Via at Squaw Valley, one of the first Via Ferrata routes in the country. I've been on routes in Europe where it is extremely popular and was looking forward to getting on this route to see if it was "the real thing" or not.... It's the real thing. Steep climbs using steel steps and rungs, wild traverses on cables, exposed bridges, etc. All protected by a special heavy duty carabiner clipped into a safety cable.
