Tactus SF is planning an intimate virtual sharing event just for Patreon supporters. This will be a special-invitation Zoom meeting where choir members showcase videos that they have put together, as individuals or in small groups, while we've been sheltering at home. You'll get to join in on informal conversations as we unveil our creations for each other for the first time. All you have to do is to pledge to support us on Patreon, starting at just $2/month (you will NOT be billed until the 1st of the month), and we will send a Zoom meeting invitation later this week. If you choose to stay on as our Patron, you will receive other perks along with our endless gratitude for supporting us! http://www.patreon.com/tactussf

Tactus has figured out how to sing in near-real time using the Jamulus app! It's currently the next best thing to singing in person for us, and we've been jamming every other week. Tonight we sang through Guerrero's Maria Magdalene, an old favorite we had performed in summer of 2018.

Here's a little recording project that eight of our singers put together for the virtual Tisha B'Av service for Congregation Ner Tamid: Barechu by Jewish-Italian Renaissance composer, Salamone Rossi (ca. 1570-1630). We recommend listening to this one with headphones for an immersive experience. Enjoy!

Eight singers from Tactus SF prepared three short virtual choir pieces for tonight's Tisha B'Av service by Congregation Ner Tamid, to be livestreamed via Zoom. Tactus SF singers have sung at this service for the past three years, and we are happy to offer our music remotely this year. For more information: https://www.nertamidsf.org

Although our community cannot meet in person to sing during this pandemic, we add our voices to the fight for justice. We are matching donations to the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund up to $1600. All donations made through this GoFundMe page will go directly to NAACP LDF. #BlackLivesMatter #NAACP #NAACPLDF #JusticeforGeorgeFloyd #JusticeforBreonnaTaylor #earlymusic #renaissancepolyphony #tactus #tactussf #tactusislife #choirlife #choir #joinchoir

During last night's Tactus Zoom call, we were delighted to welcome Michele Kennedy, soprano soloist and choral singer specializing in early-music, with regular nationwide performances, though from and based in the Bay Area. She also had a career in arts funding for the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs. We talked about how we're making art and exercising our voices during this pandemic. She taught us some stretches and breathing exercises to cut through computer posture. Pictured here, you can see us trying out Michele's cool tuning fork trick! Can you guess what it is? Thank you for joining us, Michele! @mishabella5 #renaissancepolyphony #earlymusic #tactussf #tactus #TactusIsLIFE #choirlife #choir #joinchoir #stayathome #StayHome #ShelterInPlace

So it's been 8 weeks that the SF Bay Area has been under shelter-in-place orders to flatten the curve. As we continue to stay home, let's keep the creativity going. Even creative procrastination can be a form of self-care. All things in moderation, even procrastination. #mondaymotivation #ArtIsEssential #renaissancepolyphony #earlymusic #tactussf #tactus #TactusIsLIFE #choirlife #choir #joinchoir #stayathome #StayHome #ShelterInPlace

At our weekly Tactus Zoom meeting last night, we were happy to jam with Jeffrey Thomas, founder and artistic director of American Bach Soloists and announcer at KDFC. We talked about reimagining the ways we experience within our organizations and with our audiences. How will this phoenix rise from the ashes? How did arts organize manage during the flu pandemic of 1918? Thank you for joining us, Jeffrey! #kdfc #americanbachsoloists #renaissancepolyphony #earlymusic #tactussf #tactus #TactusIsLIFE #choirlife #choir #joinchoir #stayathome #StayHome #ShelterInPlace

Now that I've lived during a plague, I get why most Renaissance paintings are of chubby women laying around with their boobs out. #HappyFriday Seen in the Parenting Under Quarantine Facebook group. #artisessential #renaissancepolyphony #earlymusic #tactussf #tactus #TactusIsLIFE #choir #choirlife #joinchoir #stayathome #StayHome #ShelterInPlace

Tactus is officially four years old this month. We were having an informal Zoom chat last weekend with beloved alumni from across the globe, when Susan Swerdlow surprised us with this! We sang happy birthday to Tactus and blew out the candles together. Then we asked her what the candles were on, and we wished we hadn’t - it turned out to be a slice of wheat bread! We have some quarantine projects up our sleeves. Stay tuned for more info soon! #shelterinplace #stayhome #covid_19 #joinchoir #tactusislife
