A Perspective. With our recent post about recruiting new members, we were sneered at that we qualified for the FTC world festival not based on a robot game but with Motivate award(for helping the community) implying that their team was somehow better than us (they qualified to the world based on robot game) The disdain and mockery were real and on first look felt hurtful. ... On reflection, it's just outlook. Some look down and others try to bring people up and celebrate each other's achievements. We have always maintained a focus on community actions along with the robot game. We do not apologize for it. Gracious professionalism and Core Values are more than words to say to judges. For all teams who get sneered or teased by "better teams". Ignore them. You do you.
Are you interested in robotics? First Tech Challenge team #11099 the Tacobots are recruiting for new members. Our team has been performing at a very high level the past 2 years, going to worlds in one year and making the regionals in the other. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are interested in building, programming, and designing. La saison est morte, vive la saison! It's not too early to start thinking about the next season! : Will the robot climb stairs if using mecanum? Season planning starts NOW!
Comeback, Disconnects, and Excelsior (long post) Yesterday was a roller coaster of a day - from being ranked 17th to Silicon Division finalist. ... The bad: In 2 of our qualifying matches, we had a disconnect. Once in our opponent's depot raking up penalty points collapsing our ranking to 17/28. We were picked by Aragon Robotics Team to be the alliance partner, and thanks to the amazing teamwork we reached the silicon division finals In the finals, our opponent had an issue. We won the round with 120+ penalty points benefit, which we returned right back in the next match by an erratic disconnect taking a 120+ penalty and losing the game. It was surreal. The good: FTC is a sport. A sport for the mind. Like any sport, it teaches the meaning of resilience, hope, and the never give up spirit. It also reminded us how much we are looking forward to the REV Robotics control hub. Our season ended with a high note and determination for the next season to aim ever higher. Excelsior. Thank you, NorCal FIRST Tech Challenge, for a fantastic season. Thanks to Aragon Robotics Team, FTC Team 14323 - Half-Wit Hatchlings ,@, FTC Team 11311 RoboAvatars - FTC #7303 for being great partners. Also to FTC 13356 RoboForce FTC We Love Pi and Team LEGIT for being gracious professionals.

It's a core value. Have fun! We did our best and we are sure all the other teams did too. Let's have fun this weekend! All the best to all teams competing in the NorCal FIRST Tech Challenge Regionals. #teampic #notfail
FTC Regionals coming up soon, CoronaVirus Outbreak, 'B' in Math (j/k -- as if!) Keep the same outlook. Be safe and keep sane, y'all. Also, carry a towel.
Sadly, our robot can't take selfies (yet) so we had to take it's pics for our ENB. Lighting, shadow angles and oof, the pressure to bring out it's good side :-) #robotdiva
Planning and setting goals for the NorCal FIRST Tech Challenge Good luck to all the teams !
