This week we dare you to put down the phone and give yourself those extra minutes to do something self-gratifying and rewarding. . The next time you find yourself mindlessly scrolling (or maybe right now? ), set a timer for 5 or 15 minutes on your phone and set it down while you stretch, complete a quick task, or even close your eyes and rest your mind. You may be surprised how much you can get from those few minutes that would have otherwise gone unnoticed!

Just like in yoga or with other disciplines, generosity is a life-skill that can take time to practice and develop into a habit. You can start with a random act of kindness like pre-paying for the car behind you at the coffee shop or toll booth, or more intentional and ongoing volunteer service for a cause that matters to you. We know that this pandemic has caused chaos in all of our lives and can often make us feel not in control. Yet there are many things - like our thoughts and habits - that remain within our control, and can make a big difference in our stress levels. This week’s #DailyDose will help you cope whenever you’re feeling overwhelmed or anxious. To start, set your timer for 5-15 minutes, find a comfortable position and just be still in the silence. Close your eyes and think ab...out the following questions, or you can journal if that helps you process. If your mind starts to wander, that’s okay. Just bring it back to focus and start again. What do I have to accomplish before I go to bed tonight? What are some things that I can take OFF my list for today? While still completing what I need to, what are 2-3 simple ways that I can care for my mental well-being today? Smart small; the answer could be simple practices like taking a short walk after lunch or resting your eyes for fifteen minutes when you hit the midday slump. We’re wrapping up our #dailydoes of lighter holiday favorites with today’s appetizer that's sure to please everyone around your table! Dates are highly nutritious and packed with antioxidants, perfect for this season's celebrations! Bacon Wrapped Dates 20 Dates 10 Slices Bacon or Turkey Bacon (cut in half) ... Wrap dates in bacon of choice and secure with a toothpick. Cook at 350 for 10 minutes, remove toothpick and cook for another 5-8 minutes until cooked to your preference. Optional: Stuff with any fun fixings - goat cheese, blue cheese, brown sugar & sriracha, marshmallows or dark chocolate. If you chose to stuff your dates, slice lengthwise prior to wrapping with bacon.
