Due to COVID-19, our June Schwingfest is currently cancelled. Depending on what happens with the virus, there is the possibility of it being rescheduled for a later date. Our other events are still tentatively scheduled to occur.

A letter from our president: Gruezi mitenand, Hello everyone: ... To all our friends and members of the San Diego Swiss Club, on behalf of the Board of Directors, I wanted to reach out and let each and every one of you know that we are thinking of you and pray that all of you are safe. Today would have been our annual Swiss Explorer Days and Spring Fondue. It was with great difficulty that it became necessary to cancel this event. This is something I personally, as well as our Board of Directors, look forward to hosting and seeing all of our members bring their children and grandchildren. It has been a real pleasure and labor of love to host these events and see the increased involvement from our members (and non-members) for this very family friendly event. At this time, we have not cancelled our October Fall Swiss Alps Experience and Fondue picnic. Our Schwingfest scheduled for June 20th has not been cancelled as of today. However, we want to keep everyone safe. We will determine if we are able to continue with this event. 2020 will be our 71st annual Schwingfest and if there is any way possible, it will go on. A meeting of the West Coast Swiss Wrestling Association is planned for this week by video conference to determine all upcoming Schwingfests. We will get out information within the next few weeks. I know that some of you are concerned regarding the Escobedo’s and the Swiss Club Hall. The Board of Directors has been working closely with Tony and Larry. We have waived the hall rent from March 15th through June 30th. We will do whatever we can to help the Escobedo’s through this pandemic. Please keep in mind all of our friends and families in Switzerland. Per capita, Switzerland is one of the hardest hit countries for COVID-19. Please stay safe and reach out to your family and friends to stay connected. In these unprecedented times, it is important that we get through this together.
