Meet Myra Aviles our Director of Education. I first met Myra seven years ago when she traveled up to San Francisco from San Diego to teach me and my team how to sugar. That decision was the best investment in my career. Sweet & True Sugaring would not exist today if I had not made the sweet switch from a waxing to a primarily sugaring salon. In fact, when I started developing the line it was Myra who encouraged that I share my formulas with the world. This is great paste..., I remember her saying when she traveled back up to San Francisco to train my team again. When @sweetandtruesugaring was ready to launch Myra was on board and she’s been an incredible partner ever since. What struck me about her approach to education was her calm demeanor and confidence with the craft. This calm exterior immediately empowers students, puts them at ease and allows them to absorb the technique. Myra has been sugaring for over 15 years and educating for 10. She’s committed to upholding the utmost integrity in the sugaring industry and supporting our students to become successful after certification. Because we all know that to truly master the art of sugaring you need a supportive team behind you to coach you through every meltdown and breakthrough. WHY BODY OIL? Let’s talk about post sugaring body care. There so many ways to care for the skin after hair removal. We all should be encouraging that our clients exfoliate regularly. But what about moisturizing? This is a must for all skin types and makes leg sugaring so much more efficient. We offer several options- balms, body lotion serums and oil. Today I want to talk about body oils. Amore is a beautiful luxurious body oil. Body oils are concentrated formulas for t...he skin because they do not contain water. But you need to teach your clients how to use a body oil properly. Body oils are best applied on slightly damp skin after getting out of the shower. This allows you to lock in moisture and for the oil to evenly distribute on the skin. You’ll also use less product this way. Our Amore Body Oil is formulated with nourishing cold pressed avocado oil, camellia (tea seed oil), and sunflower oil. It’s a light weight body oil that glides beautifully on the skin. The blend of essential oils give it a citrus, floral, earthy aphrodisiac scent profile. It sinks in after a few minutes and your client is good to get dressed. Selecting the proper paste and mixing if needed is half the battle. You must be aware of your treatment room temp, humidity, temp of client (sweating?) and body part you’re working on. Use plenty of powder, have a fan and a dehumidifier if you live in a humid climate. Always keep a jar of cold medium and pro paste handy if you need to flick out of a sticky situation.
