"How do you know if today`s workout was better than the last workout?" One of the challenges I have today is when I say "Strength Volume" most people really don...'t understand what that means. So let`s visually break it down. Look at these workouts. (weight X reps X sets) WORKOUT 1 Bench Press: 95 x 8 x 3 = 2280 Lat Pull Down: 80 x 8 x 3 = 1920 Shoulder Press 40 x 8 x 3 = 960 2280 + 1920 + 960 = 5160 WORKOUT 2 Bench Press: 127 x 6 x 3 = 2286 Lat Pull Down: 107 x 6 x 3 = 1926 Shoulder Press 53 x 6 x 3 = 954 2286 + 1926 + 954 = 5166 ================ Can you see the difference? Both workouts produce almost the same amount but obviously, you`d need to be stronger to perform WORKOUT 2! Therefore, workout 2 produces more "Strength Volume."
