Suspicious activity in the Central Coast: Local Santa Maria man was scammed on letgo. Please read his experience to prevent this from happening again. Gerrard Muñoz ~LetGo Scammer Alert 2020~ I recently was victim of a scam on the LetGo app. The man was selling a Nintendo Switch, brand new for a good price. Once he answered my questions about the item i agreed to purchase it. He lives in Lompoc and didnt want to meet nor here in Santa Maria nor there in Lompoc. He said he... was afraid of going out due to the covid19. I thought that was fair. So he had me download a cash app, Zelle. He gave me his info, email and cell # to find him on Zelle and send the $140.00. I did. He promised to send it by mail and give me a tracking number. I never heard from him again. He blocked my messages and ignored my calls. I left him voicemails asking him to please refund my money. He never did. I complained to LetGo and they eventually blocked his activity. He could try to sell under a new profile though. In my last attempt to contact him, i left him a voicemail stating that if he failed to respond and to refund my money, that i would do all i could to alert the community of him and expose him for the scammer that he is. It's been almost two weeks, hence this message to all you, my neighbors and my community. I will include his name, number and email. Thank you all for your time Scammer Info: Samuel Edwards [email protected] 661-403-7765

Suspicious activity in the Central Coast: Phone scammers at work. From the comments it seems as if they target a family member by calling and the scammer records them saying hello. Then the scammer calls a close relative with that recording and adds on a crying person and the scammers demand money in exchange to release the family member. Be carful with this occurring to you.
