Alright Gilroy, we need to rally together once more and show some love and support to one of our long time employee Morgan Morlang who just recently lost her husband Ian Morlang in a Tahoe Boating incident. He leaves behind his wife Morgan and their 3 year old son Braxton. Sushi Omakase will be doing an ALL DAY fundraiser Tuesday September 29th and donating ALL proceeds to the Morlang family to help with funeral expenses and future funds for their son. Hey Everyone, First we want to thank everyone for the well wishes to our lead Sushi Chef/Owner Pim and her Husband Scott. They brought some brightness to Pim and her family during this time. He still remains in and out of consciousness in the ICU and has a long road to recovery. They initially thought he had a stroke but turned out to be a heart attack. A bypass is likely needed but at this time he is currently not strong enough to undergo any extensive surgeries. So he will ...be closely monitored and we will be sending our positive vibes his way in the mean time. Another hard blow comes as we were getting set to reopen tomorrow. We learned an employee tested positive for Covid19. We are taking the necessary measures going forward and want to be transparent with our community so that if anybody feels they may have been exposed can go get tested right away. Fortunately we have been closed a week already due to staffing so we're glad to know that potentially might have somewhat slowed the spread. We have notified all our staff as well as requested all of them to get tested. We are thankful to learn none of our other employees are experiencing any syptoms, But do understand people can be asymptomatic. Unfortunately during this time we will remain closed until our staff receives their negative results, restaurant is commercially sanitized, and we feel our staff and customers are safe to return. Prayers going out to one of our own. Saturday our lead Sushi Chef/Owner Pim's husband suffered a stroke and remains unconscious in the ICU. We are all rooting for you Scott, hang in there and fight like hell!! During this time we have decided its best for us to close up shop for a few days instead of continuing to run short staff, and possibly upsetting customers or burning out our other staff. We will keep you posted on when we will resume. Thank you for your continued support as always, and feel free to send well wishes, we will pass them along
