Dozens of revisions later, the design is about done for the mono version of our first 500 Series module, with stereo not far behind. It slices, it dices, it should have a noise floor four times quieter than any other small format mastering console. Anybody know an EE with a deep understanding of low impedance design? It’s SMD.

We had a session come in where the tracking engineer & band hadn’t caught the snare ringing. This prevented a balanced, professional drum submix. So on the tracks where extreme notch filtering would have skewed the tone too much, we replaced the snare. This is how it’s done. Dig that crazy EQ on the send to the PA speaker! All that’s coming out is the first 50ms of each snare hit, hard gated, with a little Transient Designer for impact. Putting our Electrovoices to good use until we start gigging again! @ Survivor Sound
