Here is a really good video on river boarding. Great tips and an all around entertaining video. I cannot wait to try this out someday. http://youtu.be/pQi5U6B22PA

Today I realized that I might not be pushing myself hard enough when paddling. I paddled with a group of about 20 guys for 1.5 hours. Basically sprints the entire time. I was humbled, and almost threw up. Now I know what paddling hard really is! Quick tip based off of my experience. Once a week find a couple of people to paddle with and challenge each other. I already know this weekly session is going to take me to the next level.

I caught Jeff Warner paddling with his dog Hendricks at Carlsbad Lagoon this morning. He was on the 14' Ohana racer and jamming.

Flat Water Paddling Tip: Your paddle stroke should stop when it is about parallel with your body. When you keep paddling past your body, you are spending a lot of energy in the least effective part of your stroke. Start your stroke by reaching as far forward as you can and then stop it when it reaches your body. You will go faster and last much longer on the water.

I loved the 12'6" M&M carbon so much, I decided to step it up the 14'. It is a demo board from LegendsSUP in Carlsbad. FASTEST FLAT WATER BOARD PERIOD. I am an intermediate racer, and it allowed me to beat Jeff Warner (and advanced racer) on a 2 mile spint. If you are in Socal, I highly recommend you talk to Mark at Legends to take her out for a spin!
