On Saturday December 3 the fundraising event SuperBall Presents: Hot Shots And Know It Alls debuted with a full evening of entertainments, presentations, packed...-house excitement and all- around human goodness. The night kicked into gear under the influence of LA comedy troupe THD (Two-Headed Dog), featuring audience-rousing numbers by Folks Hands (aka Dave "Gruber" Allen and Ben Jaffe), and the incomparable Aisle Captain work of Sid Creighton (Mark Fite) and Randee of the Redwoods (Jim Turner). The stage was set, and Sarah Silverman, Sam Phillips, John Carney, Peter Jesperson, Bob Mehr, Toby Huss, Taylor Lura, and Joel Hodgson all took it in an eclectic parade of cool content before THD returned to get the sold-out theater of supporters on their feet for a closing sing-a-long of This Land Is Your Land, accompanied by Steve Berlin on saxophone. And then SuperBall Presents REALLY got cooking, with two more hours of mingling with friends, new friends, and a variety of VIPS planted throughout the venue including Ego Killers, Entomologists, Cyrano, the coolest physicist everand enough wine to fill the hold of Cousteau’s Calypso! We raised critical funds for CHIME School, laughed and learned with the sweetest performers, makers, musicians, and scientists we are fortunate enough to know, and we got to hang out and hug the greatest supporters of full inclusion ever, namely YOU, our great friends.
