Back in March, Grace Tong and her family took on an enormous project: designing, sourcing, and donating thousands of masks to various organizations. They called the project Go Masks and have donated over 42,000 masks to 60+ organizations. Thanks to Jaime K. who connected us with Grace, we were one of those organizations. Here's some great news from Veggielution for families in San Jose!

It's hot out here for our 28th Family Support Drive-Thru distribution of basic necessities and food donations. We are expecting over 140 families this week. For #ShoutoutSaturday we would like to highlight our intern, Nina G. Nina is a student at UC Irvine and was interested in exploring nonprofit work. We were so lucky to have her on our team this summer. She helped develop a data tracking system, a young adult financial literacy course, and planned many of the educational take-home kits that volunteers have been creating. Today is #Census day at our 27th weekly Family Support Drive-Thru distribution in case the Census website is closed after October 5 instead of December 31. Thanks to our local San Jose Councilmember Maya Esparza, and her chief of staff, Nick Kaspar, we had a census team join us to ensure San Jose gets a successful count for the next decade of services. San Jose leads the country in Census return rates in cities over 300,000.

For #WishfulWednesday, we have an important request. The number of infants/toddlers we have been serving has doubled to almost 100 during the pandemic! We are in constant need of diapers (and baby wipes). We are most in need of sizes 5 and 6 diapers, 4T-5T pull-ups, and wipes. Would you like to donate diapers or run a diaper drive?
