With temperatures rising we thought it might be useful for our followers to learn about lightbulb usage. A normal incandescent bulb costs about 0.75cents per hour, and LEDs or CFLs cost only one-sixth of that so leaving the lights on (either overnight or while you're at work for the day, say both are about 8 hours) costs you roughly 6 cents for a normal light and a bit over 1 cent for modern bulbs. So let’s say these bulbs run 8 hours a day everyday for a month. ... Incandescent bulbs $1.80 Led/cfl $ .33 That’s a huge price difference! So...... changing out the light bulbs in your house to LED’s or CFL’s can lower your electricity bill.

Excessive heat warnings issued for Riverside and Coachella Valley An excessive heat warning means that a prolonged period of dangerously hot temperatures will occur, the NWS said. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are likely. The NWS urged residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the midday sun and in air-conditioning if possible, and check up on relatives and neighbors. The... weather service also reminded drivers that children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances because car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. It's been a scorcher this week! Temperatures will cool a bit this weekend but still close to 100 degrees. Enough large solar facilities have been installed so far to produce at maximum more than 10,000 megawatts of electricity, the output of 10 nuclear reactors. Each megawatt supplies 760 typical homes. Thankfully we are back to full California sun...although this 100+++degree weather is a little much!!
