The Turn Verein Cosmos women's team competed in the Friendship Cup in Las Vegas on April 21-22. Captain Kim Peterson was proud of their performance as the team finished a respectful two wins and two losses to finish the tournament with an even record. Aimee Kindle and Alex Brown were the top scorers and goalkeeper Rachelle Espinoza was the MVP. According to star player Aliasha Ruland, " We were battlers in every match and gave a good showing of ourselves ". The big winner o...ff the field ( and on the tables ) was rumored to be Josolyn Bradshaw who bought more than her share of rounds for the team. Way to go ladies!

It's time to celebrate the STV Soccer Club's 60th anniversary. Get out your calendar and save the evening of Saturday, May 26th for a celebration that is 60 years in the making. Over the next several weeks we will be announcing all the event details so stay tuned.

Food, Friends & Fun Over 400 people gathered at the Sacramento Turn Verein hall on February 17th for the 16th annual Sacramento Turn Verein Soccer Club Crab Feed. The fun-loving crowd devoured over 1,400 pounds of crab as well as antipasti, salad and spaghetti. Highlights of the evening included a silent auction, dessert auction, hosted bar and dancing to a live band late into the night. The success of the event is entirely due to the tremendous efforts of volunteers helpin...g in many ways - ticket sales, coordinating donations, cooking, serving, set up and clean up. A special thank you to first time event chairman Dave Telfer for coordinating the entire event. Mira Loma High School's boys and girls teams volunteered as servers and earned over $1,700 in tips which will be used to purchase much needed equipment for the program. The following week the Mira Loma boys team won their first payoff game in over 20 years beating #4 seed Sierra 2-1. A successful event for all involved. See more
