One of our favorite moments this year was teaching our parents Montessori Math with Zoe and Myriam as their Guides. Montessori Math starts with big concepts like the formation of large numbers, passage of abstraction and geometry; versus memorization and regurgitation. Providing children with opportunities to build practical life skills is one of the most important aspects of the Montessori curriculum. The fun part is children seeing the real life applications of these skills and the benefit to their community. At @studiomontessorisf that includes slicing strawberries for snack, baking bread for lunch, unpacking and sorting school deliveries and wiping down sleeping mats after nap!
