A letter from Emily Dickinson to an editor in 1862. (Her poems weren't published in book form until 1889) Mr. Higginson, Are you too deeply occupied to say if my Verse is alive?... The Mind is so near itself it cannot see, distinctly and I have none to ask Should you think it breathed and had you the leisure to tell me, I should feel quick gratitude If I make the mistake that you dared to tell me would give me sincere honor toward you I enclose my name asking you, if you please Sir to tell me what is true? It is with a heavy heart that we announce that due to the widespread Covid-19 & safety precautions-- TONIGHT's 8pm performance of Red, White, Black & Blue at SoloFest 2020 -- featuring "Drowning" by Leilani Squire -- has been CANCELLED. Our hope is to POSTPONE until late April/ early May -- will keep you posted as we hear more. First and foremost, we are a family & we take care of each other. Your safety, & the safety of your loved ones, is our number one priority. We also ...know it is the mindset of an artist to power through and live by the "the show must go on" attitude.... but in this instance, we will remain dark. LOVE you guys! Thank you for understanding. Stay safe! ;)
