The first painting of 2022. "A View to the West" is retro to my earlier skyline series but the color palette to a large degree is actual, more intense, slightly altered in hue, but for the first time real. The buildings are exactly to scale as usual. I still want to continue my pseudo-abstract Resonance series. Hoping for a trip to Serendip for inspiration. The latest painting takes us to Oakland, CA, and the interchange of 580 and 24, a commuter nemesis. My title is Notorious 'Maze' and as indicated it is known as The Maze. Painted to scale, the work continues my studies of reality becoming abstraction when reduced to geometric elementals and enhanced through bold solids and colors.
