July 27th was my birthday and my friends at our congregation gave me a lovely party, her come some photos.

the most blessed day in my life.

we had a great blessed day, by the visit of SYNOD OF BISHOPS on July 2nd 2014 and I would loe to share this great event with all of you.His Eminence Metropolite Hilarion of the Eastern and Ameican and New York church.FIRST HIRARCH of the RUSSIAN Church abroad came by bus together with our own Arch Bishop Kyrill of S.F. accompanied by His emincence Mark, Arch Bishop of Germany and ritain, Eminince Bishop of Caracas and All south America, and many other eminences. as well as Ar...chpriest Paul of Sacramento. They ALL came to taste the wonderful RUSSIAN ORTHODOX CHALICE WINE, which is being produce by our own Fr. akim Provatakis and the Napa Valley winemaker Mark HEROLD..Fr. akim ahs two kinds produced, first one a somewhat sweet wine, at $ 55.- per bottle. made from MALBEC grapes from our area and the second one at $ 20.-- per bottle. both of them can be tasted and bought ay our church hall here in Calistoga. This wine was found andmade by emperor Peter the Great over three centuries ago. this was the HIGHLIGHT OF MY LIFE , being blessed by 7 bishops and two priests.and so it was for Fr. Akim.. THIS should help me to get my health back again, so I can continue to work for and help my so VERY LOVELY CHURCH. I shall try to post photos here, but,seem to have troubles. Dear friends. I have exciting news! This coming Friday, April 12th the MOTHER OF GOD,of KURSK (icon) will be in our church. She is expected to arrive at 10 AM, please com and pray with us. Ingeborg, Treasurer.

Just a short note to all of our friends. Arch Bishop Kyrill will honor us by giving AGAIN the HOLY UNCTION SERVICE at our lovely little church and we feel special very blessed by his blessings. It will be April 8th at 5 Pm ,with a light meal after the service ,at the Holy Assumption Monastery.Please do come and attend this special service. Ingeborg, Treasurer

winetasting/fundraiser oct.7/2012

Winetasting/Fundraiser for our church was a good success.It was a lovely ,sunny day, no wind and not hot, as it was the week before.We had about 100 guests and they all enjoyed our shady, lovely garden, as well as the horse'dovers served by Fr. akis son Vasilie his pretty and charming daughter Julie and their lovely friend too,,( sorry I forgot her name) It all started at 3 PM and lasted until 6 PM, when the silent auction started.To our great and pleasant surprise our dear ...Archbihsop Kyrill from San Francisco also came and , as you will see by the coming photos, he too enjoyed himself very much. Everybody had a great time and it was suggested to Fr. Akim that we should do this every year, and some even suggested, to make several of these fundraisers..
