From Donna Jones: My Dear Friends and Family.... There are 2 parts of this message...so hang on...!! First of all ....because of the thoughtfulness , caring and love...I received from so many of you i had a fabulous Birthday!! It is hard to put into words the feelings of a full heart to be remembered by so many as you go beyond the "Golden Years"....!! I feel so very blessed and want you all to know how sincerely I thank you and miss you in this year of staying apart....!!... Now the reason it has taken me 3 days to write this... On the night of my Birthday, Monday, we had 75mph winds in the mountains where I live, and Mother Nature took over and threw the top of a tree over my roof which came through the ceiling in my house....kinda strange when you see a tree branch coming out of your ceiling...also broke skylight, damaged solar panels, split another tree in half and really raised havoc...!! Have not had power or internet until last night...also alarm system went crazy...so it has been quite a ride...!!! I am safe and also blessed to have a kind contractor who took time to tarp roof until fixed as rain is coming tonight....!! A long story, but wanted to share as it will give you something to read since we can't go anywhere....!! Sending much love and hugs.

Prayer for Those Displaced by Wildfires Almighty and Loving God, you who have crossed the boundaries of Heaven and Earth to be with your people, visit those who must flee their homes because of wildfires and lead them to safety. Be with all whose lives, homes and livelihoods are under threat. O Holy Spirit of comfort and eternal presence: spread over us, your weary and anxious people, your protective and reassuring wings,... that we might be delivered from our fears and worries. We give thanks for all who have offered us shelter with openness and hospitality. Be with us as we strive to enact your will in our welcome and support to all who have been displaced. Be with those in positions of leadership, that their decisions may be filled with wisdom, compassion and justice. Give us all strength and courage. Equip and empower us to be witnesses to your love wherever we may be as advocates and as servants, as ministers of welcome and bearers of hope. In your Holy name, we pray. Amen See more
