Safety first isn’t a new concept around here, but St. Paul’s PACE takes it very seriously! To ensure the safety of our seniors and staff, St. Paul’s continues to test regularly, offer vaccination clinics, and provide the proper PPE.

This week is National Activity Professional Week, and here at St. Paul's, we don't know what we would do without our Activity Coordinators who work so hard to bring joy and purpose to our residents' lives. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, our activity departments continue to come up with creative ways to keep residents active and entertained. We couldn’t think of a better way to say goodbye to 2020 and hello to 2021 than with a renewed sense of hope! This year has been incredibly challenging for our residents, patients and staff, but we all persevered together! Thank you to our community for your support, well wishes, donations, letters, and prayers; they have meant so much to us and our seniors. Here’s to the New Year!

St. Paul's rolled out the COVID-19 Vaccination for the first time today at our Nursing and Rehab Center in Bankers Hill. Many residents and staff members felt proud to get the vaccine and take the first steps toward beating this virus. Overall, today the vaccine was administered to 45 residents and 95 staff members. Our other residential communities will start receiving the vaccination in the next few weeks!

Can you feel the joy and excitement?! St. Paul's first COVID-19 vaccination clinic on December 30th was such a special event for both residents and staff members at St. Paul’s Senior Services Nursing and Rehabilitation! Take a look.

As we enter this New Year, we would like to take a moment to acknowledging our Medical Director, Dr. Victor Lee, for his incredible leadership during COVID-19. Since February, Dr. Lee has tirelessly led St. Paul's Senior Services by providing the council and tools to keep our services and communities safe for our seniors and staff. From early infection control protocols and PPE supplies, to testing oversight and the rollout of the vaccination, we are so blessed to have Dr. Lee on our team. Thank you for all you have done! We LOVE bear hugs! Thanks to a few amazing friends of St. Paul's, our seniors and day care kiddos have received adorable teddy bears this holiday season. During a time when we can't give out hugs ourselves, it means so much to be able to gift someone with a giant "bear hug." A special thank you to Patty, Julie, Chris, and Jason for collecting more than 400 teddy bears to distribute!

We are overwhelmed by our community's generosity! This week and next, St. Paul's PACE participants are receiving blankets and teddy bears thanks to so many of YOU. Our Motor Mingle and Blanket Drive collected more than 600 blankets for seniors in need! Not only that, but a few generous friends of St. Paul's, Julie and Patty, donated hundreds of teddy bears to our seniors. THANK YOU SAN DIEGO!

St. Paul's reimagined the Annual Jingle Mingle and Blanket Drive as a "Motor Mingle" Drive-Thru event at St. Paul's Plaza, complete with holiday lights, Santa Clause, carolers, goodies, and more. Thanks to our generous community, we collected more than 500 blankets (and counting) that will go to St. Paul's PACE seniors in need!
