We agree!! Girls and young women across the Appalachian region of the USA share common challenges resulting from low educational attainment, limited employment skills, few strong role models, and low self-esteem. This StoryCenter project feature with ' () seeks to address these challenges by promoting 21st century literacy skills, educational access, and economic opportunity for Appalachia’s girls and young women in western... North Carolina. Working with summer interns from Duke University and Berea College each June for the past 9 years, StoryCenter has facilitated the digital literacy and digital storytelling program for PAGE’s middle school girls. Their stories tell the collective story of the rich heritage of the region, and we are excited to share a few of them with you- check out our IGTV channel!
