For you Mamas: After I had Henry, I went back to work teaching 4th grade in Martinez. I had been inside my house with a baby for 2 months and was eager to have human contact again. I remember the first day I walked back from the parking lot to the building: past carloads of families dropping off students and past families walking into school. As I looked around at all these mothers living their everyday lives I slowed to a stop. I really truly stopped, looking around, con...fused. I could NOT believe a fanfare of awe and celebration wasn't surrounding these women as they went through their days. These were Mothers people!! Did we not all know how extraordinarily super powered we truly are? We're just out there living life and refraining from telling people about it constantly!? I could NOT believe it. I CANNOT believe it! So, beautiful, loving, powerful Moms, today please imagine me marching in front of you with a trumpet in my hand like the Genie in front of the Prince Ali parade. Fabulous are YOU and every day you should be celebrated for every moment you share your super powered love with the world. I am ribbon dancing all around you for the strength I know you're mustering as you exhale and then keep maintaining that patient tone. I am throwing (biodegradable) confetti over your head because I know the way your universe opened to include other people when you became a mother and you saw everything with new eyes. I am hugging you with thanks for showing your full beautiful feeling thinking selves to your children which is leading them to be their full beautiful selves as well. You are great, Mothers. Powerful, beautiful, and great. Happy *$%&ing Mothers Day!

Maybe laughing or yawning can help us feel good!... Coronavirus isn’t the only thing that spreads! Good ideas can spread too! I heard one good idea, where friends are decorating rainbows to put in their windows. Care to spread it? WARNING we DO have the giggles.

Sometimes, we have to help get the idea rolling for an activity, before your child can carry through on their own. It can be hard to stay entertained, but have faith! They WILL focus on something again.... It can be a great distraction to go looking for something, like buds to say hello to. And usually it can lead to discovering something else interesting! And noticing nature change is a great pleasure and brings peace. Maybe you can join them outside. Love you!
