I bless the LORD who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. I keep the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.Psalm 16:7-8

"LITANY FOR A BELIEVER. My strength is in my faith: I will not waver in my trust that, whatever may come, in the end the Spirit of goodness and mercy will be wa...iting for me on the other side. My strength is in my faith: I will not be resigned that a pale approximation of freedom is all that we can hope for, but insist that justice alone is our future as a diverse family. My strength is in my faith: I will not surrender to any illness, even those that may take my life, but continue to believe our tomorrow is eternal. My strength is in my faith: I will not bend my knee to despair, but love and love always, even if the stars should desert the sky and the Earth hide her beauty from the sun, still I will love and love always, until my love is so much a part of my life that I can no longer tell where one ends and the other begins." May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, in accordance with Christ Jesus, so that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ. Romans 15:5-6

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8

"What will we remember? One day, when we look back on this time, what will we remember most? The smoke of great forest fires will linger in our memory of these ...days. The image of people wearing masks will never leave us. Long lines of people waiting to be tested for the virus or waiting to vote, protesters in the streets, empty cruise ships and silent restaurants: the strangeness of this experience, the way it reordered reality so quickly, the impact it had on so many aspects of our lives: we will remember all of that for years to come. What we cannot see clearly now, in the future we will recognize as a turning point, an epic shift in our awareness and our humility. We will remember what got us through these days: the simple but strong faith of resolute people. People who faced a global pandemic, and never gave up. People who faced chaos, and refused to cede their hope to sorrow. I pray we remember ourselves, the everyday people who went on, one day at a time, as hard as it was, and never stopped caring or believing. The memory of these days will be in our history, but the common courage of so many who lived and died will be in our hearts." The Rt. Rev. Steven Charleston See more
