Santa has a few extra helpers this year! St. Joseph's employees have purchased gifts for 540 children in need in our community, as part of our annual employee-led SPIRIT Club Adopt-A-Child project. The gifts will be given to children connected to the Child Abuse Prevention Council and San Joaquin County's Human Services Agency. Each child will receive a minimum of two gifts, inspired by items listed on their wish lists. This year we’ve collected over 1450 gifts, including 25 bicycles! Since the project first launched in 1986, our generous employees have gone above and beyond to help make this time of year extra special for kids in need, and this challenging year was no exception.

Today we hosted a community webinar to provide an update on managing the COVID-19 pandemic in San Joaquin County. We are so honored to have been named Best of San Joaquin by The Record's readers! This year St. Joseph's Medical Center was voted best in the following categories: overall hospital, emergency room, women's health and home health care. St. Joseph's Behavioral Health Center was also voted best mental health care. In light of this challenging year, this recognition is extra special to our health care heroes, who carry out our mission of humankindness each and every day. #bestofsanjoaquin
