Christ is in our midst! He is and ever shall be! I’m off the grid today for our Church Mom’s Birthday. Call in cases of emergency: (619)760-6373. No Bible Study tonight. We continue next week with a new Podcast released from Steve at Be the Bee! Galaktion & his wife Episteme, the Martyrs of Emesa Saint Galaktion was from Emesa, the son of Cleitophon and Leucippe, pagans who had been instructed in piety by a certain Christian named Onuphrius and received holy Baptism. Saint E...pisteme, born of unbelieving parents, was baptized before she was wedded to Galaktion. After their marriage they remained in virginity and lived in separate monastic houses. Betrayed as Christians, they suffered martyrdom during the reign of Decius, about the year 250. Apolytikion Fourth Mode Thy Martyrs, O Lord, in their courageous contest for Thee received as the prize the crowns of incorruption and life from Thee, our immortal God. For since they possessed Thy strength, they cast down the tyrants and wholly destroyed the demons' strengthless presumption. O Christ God, by their prayers, save our souls, since Thou art merciful. Kontakion Second Mode The Martyrs of Christ, received you in their companies, who through mighty trials contested most resplendently; O renowned Galaktion and thy hallowed spouse and co-sufferer, Episteme, ye both entreat the one God and Lord in behalf of us all. Patrobos, Gaios, Hermas, Linos, & Philologos, Apostles of the 70 November 5 = Pres Joy’s Birthday!

Christ is in our midst! He is and ever shall be! I’m posting a bit late because I’ve been out and about early this morning to Commune Parishioners who have been staying at home. I want everyone to know this because I’m VERY willing to help people stay in Communion in whatever way works. I offer early morning Communion so that people can fast from the night before, even as they would in coming to Church. So, whether inside, outside, on FaceTime or phone... we’re here to help y...Continue reading

5th Sunday of Luke/Sts. Kosmas and Damian Services found at agesinitiatives.org

St Gregory of Nyssa Greek Orthodox Church 11.08.2020

Christ is in our midst! He is and ever shall be! 9am Orthros (Morning Prayer) and 10ish Divine Liturgy. We couldn’t raise the tent in time so we’re going to space out, up to the 1st 30 people in the Sanctuary and another 15 or so in the Hall. We are, of course, still live-streaming here, so if we exceed our capacity we can always be watched (Prayed with) from home or car and come in for Communion. You can call or text Chris Ramey at the door if there is any question of access...ibility. Chris R’s # +1 (760) 604-5002 Of course you can always reach me either before 9 or after 12: (619)760-6373, [email protected] Forgive us for the inconvenience. We’re seeking to honor the county health guidelines, keep everyone as safe as possible, and yet be present to our primary purpose to pray for the life of the world. May our Lord bless, guide and protect us during this time of trial. Maranatha! Cosmas and Damian the Holy Unmercenaries of Asia, and their mother Theodota These Saints were from Asia (that is, Asia Minor). After the death of their father, their Christ-loving mother Theodota reared them in piety and in all manner of virtue, and had them instructed in every science, especially that of medicine. This became their vocation, and they went about healing every illness and malady, bestowing healing freely on both men and beasts alike; because of this, they are called "Unmercenaries." And thus, having completed the course of their life, they reposed in peace. Apolytikion Third Mode Sainted Unmercenaries and Wonder Workers, regard our infirmities; freely you have received, freely share with us. Kontakion Second Mode O glorious, wonderworking physicians, having received the grace of healing, you reach out and restore health to those in need. But also, by your visitation you cast down the arrogance of the enemy, healing the world through miracles.

Any questions, concerns or needs, just call or come: (619)760-6373, [email protected] Amplias, Apelles..., Stachys, Urban, Aristobulus & Narcissus of the 70 Of these holy Apostles, Stachys became the first Bishop of Byzantium, consecrated by the Apostle Andrew. Having shepherded his people for sixteen years, he reposed in the Lord. As for the others, each one shone forth in the episcopal see appointed to him: Apelles, Bishop of Heraclea; Amplias, Bishop of Odyssopolis; Urban, Bishop of Macedonia; Narcissus, Bishop of Athens; and Aristobulus, Bishop of Britain. Apolytikion Third Mode O Holy Apostles, intercede to our merciful God, that He may grant our souls forgiveness of sins. Kontakion Plagal Fourth Mode Come, let us duly praise Apelles and famed Aristobulus, the wise Apostles, with Urban, Narcissos and Stachys, and blessed Amplias, as the most sacred treasures of the All-holy Spirit and the far-shining beams of Christ, the Sun of Glory, whom God brought together by His grace. The Holy Martyr Epimachus of Egypt The Martyr Epimachus, who was from Egypt, had lived the ascetical life on Mount Pelusium. He came to Alexandria during the reign of Decius, and was arrested by Apellianus the Governor. He suffered martyrdom in the year 251.

Padre C from late afternoon: (619)760-6373, [email protected] Cleopas and Artemas of the 70 Apostles Apolytikion Third Mode... O Holy Apostles, intercede to our merciful God, that He may grant our souls forgiveness of sins. The Holy Martyrs Zenobius and His Sister Zenobia These Saints were from Aegae in Cilicia, brought up in piety by their parents. Zenobius was a physician, and healed many freely by the power of God; because of his virtue he was consecrated Bishop of Aegae. With his sister he was taken by Lysias the Governor, and after many tortures they were beheaded, about the year 290, during the reign of Diocletian. Kontakion Plagal Fourth Mode With songs inspired by God, let us now render honour, as is due unto Zenobius and wise Zenobia, the pair of siblings in the flesh, who proclaimed true religion; those two martyrs of truth, who, passing their lives as one, also received together through martyrdom crowns that shall not fade.
