Copy From A Post.....read with caution and beware of the facts if this is all true...read all the small print very carefully.... Sadly, just like tax refunds (which I don’t understand how those not paying in get thousands back....), some folks are going to be STUPID with their stimulus checks and go hog wild on useless shit. So there’s this advice (copied and shared). This is copied. Solid advice....... GOVERNMENT STIMULUS CHECK So here’s what’s up: 1. To Tenants: If the government says you don’t have to pay your rent and there’s a ban on evictions, you better do whatever you can to pay your rent. There will be major repercussions when evictions bans are lifted. Don’t think you’ll get a free ride out of this. PAY YOUR RENT! Your landlord has bills to pay too. 2. To Homeowners: If the government tells banks to stop mortgage payments, DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO PAY YOUR MORTGAGE!. Some lenders are saying you don’t have to pay for 3 months but on the 4th month, all four payments are due in full. Do not take a chance and not pay. Major foreclosures will come from all this. The banks didn’t help homeowners in 2008-09 and in 2020, it’s still the same. Pay your mortgage. 3. If the utility company suspends payments, you.better. PAY. ANY. AMOUNT. YOU . CAN! They are like banks, they will want their money eventually and when all this clears up, you’ll owe an exuberant bill and still won’t have any utilities. Pay whatever you can. 4. If you get a government stimulus check, this check is to help pay your bills. That means you pay your rent, your mortgage, your utilities, your insurance, your car payment, y.o.u.r. b.i.l.l.s. This is not for frivolous spending. 5. The real problem is, many who will get the stimulus check....you won’t pay your bills then be crying and wailing saying They evicted me. They cut off my power, they repossessed my car... All while you’re broke and carrying that empty purse you bought with your stimulus check. (Copied from a friend.) Right!! Its not a free for all people think wisely! PAY YOUR BILLS!!!! There’s always FREE cheese in a mouse trap!

Pass his along to anyone you know that lives in California. Major property tax increases are on the launch pad as California politicians try to repeal prop 13 by slipping it under the radar. California's Attorney General, Xavier Becerra is putting together plans to raise property tax revenue by eliminating the only thing keeping some people's property tax from sky rocketing, Prop 13. Because they know it will be unpopular if presented as "Repeal Prop 13," Xavier Becerra has s...trategically relabeled it "Education and Local Government Funding." It's already on the 2020 ballot and much like the gasoline tax, it will be worded in a way that misleads California voters. People renting may see it as a way to get something for nothing, but the long term result will be higher rents to pay due to the increase in property taxes. People are leaving the state in record numbers, and many here are barely hanging on, this could be something that changes the face of California forever. All my California friends and family, please COPY and REPOST as this must be defeated. California’s surplus is how much? From the Orange County Register July 29,2019 If one includes reserves from special funds and adds them to the generally accepted figure of the surplus, the answer is stunning. General fund reserves exceed $20 billion and special fund reserves exceed $16 billion. In short, California is sitting on over $36 billion. This doesn’t even include the billions kept in reserve by local governments. How much more do they need?

On October 9, 2017, the Governor issued an Executive Order declaring a state of emergency because of the wildfires in Napa and Sonoma Counties. Also on October 9, 2017, the Governor issued a second Executive Order declaring a state of emergency in Butte, Lake, Mendocino, Nevada, and Orange Counties. On October 10, the Governor issued an Executive Order declaring a state of emergency in Solano County. California Penal Code section 396 prohibits price gouging (defined as incre...ases over 10%) for necessary goods and services after the governor declares a state of emergency. Housing defined in the law as any rental housing with an initial lease term of no longer than one year is specifically enumerated as one of the services for which the price cannot be raised over 10%. The costs of hotel rooms are also covered by the law. Under the price gouging law, there is a narrow exception for price increases over 10% if the landlord proves that the increase is directly attributed to cost increases. The prohibition on price gouging ordinarily lasts 30 days from the declaration but can be extended by the Governor or locally. Equally importantly, an official, board, or other governing body vested with authority to make such a declaration at the local level can declare a state of emergency triggering the price gouging law, and renew it for 30 days at a time. Tenants Together is urging local government officials impacted directly or indirectly by the fire displacement to pass such declarations. Tenants who face rent increases over 10% in areas where the state of emergency has been declared should seek help immediately. Resources include local legal aide offices and local district attorneys. Price gouging tenants is not just a civil violation, but a criminal misdemeanor under the law. On October 9th, the Attorney General Becerra issued Consumer Alert on price gouging, stating: Violators of the price gouging statute are subject to criminal prosecution that can result in a one-year imprisonment in county jail and/or a fine of up to $10,000. Violators are also subject to civil enforcement actions including civil penalties of up to $5,000 per violation, injunctive relief, and mandatory restitution. The Attorney General and local district attorneys can enforce the statute. The law says what it says and bars rent increases over 10% following the Governor’s declaration of a state of emergency, said Dean Preston, Executive Director of Tenants Together, California’s statewide organization for renters’ rights. Landlords planning to gouge tenants who are desperate for housing should think twice. Tenants with questions on their rights may call the Tenants Together Hotline at (888) 495-8020. A tenants’ rights fact sheet will also be released next Thursday, October 26th in conjunction with the webinar. Victims of price gouging can file a complaint through the Attorney Generals Office’s website or call (800) 952-5225.

If your heat source is PROPANE, you better read this: https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/fa/billTextClient.xhtml (From Blue Star Gas) ... "LEGISLATIVE RED ALERT! Action Required Dear Valued Propane Customer, As you may know, propane provides consumers with a low cost, clean energy solution for both residential and commercial building energy use. Presently, there is a bill matriculating through California’s Assembly that we believe ultimately seeks to eliminate your access to propane. Our industry prides itself on providing consumers with a clean, ultra-low carbon fuel. For example, the California propane industry is advocating for the use of renewable propane (propane derived from plants and animal waste) which according to the California Air Resources Board has a carbon footprint lower than that of electricity. There are other examples as well, including appliance technology innovations that help make propane a low emissions energy solution for consumers. We need your help to ensure Californians can continue to use propane for a variety of energy uses including home heating, cooking, clothes dryers, generators, and water heaters. We ask if you could take 30 seconds to click on the following link to send a letter urging your assemblyperson to vote ‘NO’ on AB 3232. With your help, we hope to ensure propane remains a comprehensive component to California’s greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets."
