Steps Therapy is supporting the SF/Marin Food Bank this holiday to help families and communities impacted by COVID-19. With the COVID-19 crisis’ impact on business and the economy, we need to find ways to support more kids, families, and individuals who are becoming food insecure. Parents who already work two or three jobs to make ends meet are being laid off or losing their jobs. Rally your family members, friends, and colleagues to donate! With every dollar, we receive we can provide two healthy meals to struggling folks. Working together, we can make a difference! Please join us in supporting #FoodforAll! You can join our virtual team, or simply hand some dried or canned food to any of the team members you see weekly!
This pandemic has thrown a wrench in many of our beloved Steps Therapy traditions, but one we miss most is our monthly date at the Sausage Factory for supervision group. Regularly we would find extra cheesy bread or complimentary meatballs just dropped off at our table, and they would always turn the music down when we were passionately debating ABA topics in the back room. Zoom just isn’t the same! Tonight we ordered takeout and sent a message to our Sausage Factory fam and they responded by sending a giant tiramisu with a sweet message
Here are a few ideas if you are avoiding knives, or a mess!
If anyone wants to learn more about Feda and and her son, please watch this video.
While we didn’t know Feda personally, we are posting in solidarity with all of our CalABA colleagues and the Bay Area Autism community. We always enjoyed seeing her speak when we had the chance, and hearing her blunt take on all things Autism and motherhood was often refreshing. Feda helped so many families, and made huge strides in creating access the medically-based services we all tap into daily. We are mourning the loss of her and her son alongside all of our Bay Area moms and colleagues this weekend

Halloween planning starts now!
It is this time of year that we are usually together in Lafayette Park. We are beyond saddened that we cannot celebrate what would have been our 10th Steps Therapy Picnic for Families. As soon as COVID hit, we were panicked about whether our picnic would be able to happen as planned. We know safety is important, but we have to be honest...we want nothing more than to spend a sunny afternoon in the park with you all, surrounded bubbles and giggling, eating delicious food, an...d playing in pools full of beans, rice and snow. In honor of what would have been our 10th picnic! We miss you all and can't wait to be back in a park with you all.
Consider donating! The Off the Grid food-truck festival organizers have launched a fundraiser to get monies rolling in for meals in California fire zones. All contributions to their NorCalFire Relief Fund will help pay the costs of sending food trucks to feed first responders and community members in areas where it is deemed safe to operate, according to the company, which has organized and supplied relief meals during this pandemic and previous California wildfire seasons.... For a donation of just $12, you will not only provide a basic need to those who have been affected by the fires, but also create revenue opportunities for local food businesses who have been suffering, an Off the Grid spokeswoman said. - The Mercury News
