The Stepping Out outpatient program bridges the gap between these types of meetings and rehab and meets clients where they are in their addictions, providing an on-ramp to recovery. Stepping Out also offers flexible options to fit with your work schedule or to accommodate social distancing and stay-at-home pandemic guidelines. Struggling to get sober? If you or someone you love is struggling to get or stay sober right now, the Stepping Out Outpatient program can help. Stepping Out offers help for people who are trying to get sober, but don't need or can't do inpatient rehab. Since we opened in 2018, our philosophy has been to meet people where they are in recovery. Now, we mean that pretty much literally. You can still come to our physical location in North Park, but if you can't, we have other options for connecting. You can participate in groups or get one-on-one help via video chat and we can talk to you over the phone as well. This is an on-going battle that we need to stay vigorous in or efforts. It takes a village and we remain steadfast in our efforts to continuously serve or clients. THE END OF 2020 Addiction does not stop during a pandemic, and neither do we. I remember back in March, when Cheryl Houk, our Executive Director, took early and decisive actions to ensure that those under the organization’s care would continue to have uninterrupted access to the best treatment options, no matter what. If you think about it, all holiday parties are optional. If you don’t think the activity is going to be good for your recovery, it’s okay not to go. You can politely decline the party invite, but make a lunch date with the host for another day.

Thank you to everyone for your support. On Christmas, we were able to arrange for a holiday gifts and a hot meal to each client in hotels. Thank you to the team at Urban Mos for taking care of our order. Also have new pillows and bedding, and sanitation is complete. We are working to support the residents and staff who need assistance. Please be safe out there.

When we can focus on others, we find more joy and gratitude. So look for ways to think about and serve others. Make a special family recipe and deliver to friends. Donate your time at a homeless shelter, food pantry, or soup kitchen. Spend time with a neighbor who is confined. These spiritual opportunities allow us to spread happiness and cheer to others. Treat it as one of the benefits of staying clean and sober; being able to have a clear mind and body to help others.
