Acceptance does not mean that you are OK with it, that you agree with it, or that you should just sit back and give up trying to make things better. It also is not a sign of weakness or failure. It does mean stepping out of denial, acknowledging that it is actually happening, and letting go of perception and judgment.

We have all been forced to adapt to a new way of life, but are you adapting in a way that empowers you and those you care about? We often look externally for solutions to problems, when the answers lie within us. I had a conversation with a client this morning who wanted to try a particular diet because his current eating plan wasn't working. When we explored a little deeper it wasn't the plan that hadn't worked, he hadn't applied the steps to make it work. So rather than addressing the internal blocks keeping him from following through, he continued to look elsewhere for the quick fix. Once he changed the way he was looking at the situation he was in a better position to create a new vision for himself. Sometimes the answers are closer to home than you think!
