Zoom link:https://smccd.zoom.us/we/register/WN_0y0JT-wIQ4q1NB6yIEAe6A (link also in bio) Joel Gallegos is a former MESA student who studied Mathematics in community college (CRC) in Sacramento and is now pursuing his PhD at the University of Minnesota. He is a first-generation student whose father was an immigrant. He struggled in high school, and it wasn't until he received encouragement from a Puente advisor at community college that he started on his current academic journey. His research on the Aztec Diamond involves on Combinatorics and Algebraic Geometry. Attendees will be able to ask questions and the event will be recorded!
