On July 18, we had a wonderful Open House to celebrate the Steinbeck Toastmasters Club's 40th anniversary! It was hard to compete with the California Rodeo taking place the same day but we managed to! The Club welcomed 5 community members to learn about our Club and the different ways Toastmasters members learn how to improve their public speaking and leadership skills. Great work and thanks to: - Carlos (Sergeant at Arms) for setting up the conference hall so nicely and hear...tily welcoming every guest! - Juan (President), for donating the anniversary cake, bringing 2 guests, and being a driver of the positive vibes during the meeting, leaping into the air with excitement! - Gerry (Speaker), for delivering a beautiful and insightful 13-minute (wow) speech "Who are Steinbeck Toastmasters, or What the Heck Have We Been Doing the Past 40 Years". - Dorcas (Evaluator), for showcasing what a great speech evaluation is! - David (Table Topic Master), for leading a wonderful conversation, making fellow Toastmasters share their personal journey and goals why they have joined the Club. Here are some pictures from the Open House's meeting. Enjoy and hope to see you next week!
