Creation of an edible learning ga...rden will provide: A healthy and natural food source for local charity groups such as the Yolo Food Bank, Fourth & Hope, the Woodland Children’s Farmers Market, as well as all local farm-to-fork restaurants. A teaching site for our young people. A place where amateur gardeners get instruction from Master Gardeners on soil amendments, creating a drought-tolerant yard, how best to manage garden pests, etc. A site that is wheelchair accessible. A sampling of innovative agricultural practices that are taking place throughout the region and an introduction of new varieties of vegetables and fruit. A site for a Farm-to-Fork meal and Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner in the Garden. A resource site for non-profits that offer insights into what it means to grow food.
